Benefits of Babywearing
What is so good about babywearing?
Babies are so nice to cuddle (and they only stay that way for the first year before they're off running all over the place) so why settle for peering at baby in a cot or playpen? Let her snuggle against you and reap these numerous benefits!
1. Baby cries less
Research shows that babies who are carried cry (on average) 43% less overall and 54% less during the evening hours. In cultures where babies are carried almost continuously, babies cry much less than those in non-carrying cultures, or none at all.
2. Baby learns more
What do babies do when they're not crying? Learning of course! Babies spend more time in a "quiet, alert state" when carried. This is the ideal state for learning. His senses are stimulated while being carried. He sees the world from where you do, instead of the ceiling above his crib or people's knees from a stroller. All this extra learning benefits brain development. And when baby has had enough of the world, he only has to burrow against his Mama for some quiet time.
3. It's great for baby's emotional development
You'll be up against a fair amount of "good advice",
